Natural Dye & Flower Workshop
Join Lana from Loominary_space and Karlea from Flower Eros for a special day of flowers, creativity and natural colour. Beginning at Karlea’s flower farm, we’ll pick fresh blooms, learn about her cut-flower growing process, and explore the art of botanical dyeing.
Together, we’ll transform flowers into beautiful bundle-dyed silk pillowcases and an eco-printed creation. Discover the beauty of working with flowers, leaves and natural pigments to create unique, one-of-a-kind pieces to take home,
You’ll head home with your handmade pieces and a fresh bouquet of flowers picked straight from the farm.

The Nitty Gritty
We’ll explore how different botanicals, flowers, leaves, food waste and natural materials can be used to create colour and imprint their shapes, textures and pigments onto natural fibres. You’ll learn how to prepare your fabrics, choose and layer plant materials, create your bundles and experiment with different techniques to achieve a range of unique results.
We’ll cover the fundamentals of natural dyeing, fabric preparation, mordanting and botanical selection, as well as the differences between eco printing and bundle dyeing and how you can continue experimenting with these techniques at home.
A big part of natural dyeing is allowing the plants to lead the way, no two pieces are ever quite the same. There’s an element of curiosity, chance and surprise in every bundle you unwrap.
This workshop is designed to be relaxed, creative and practical. You’ll get hands-on experience throughout the workshop and leave with your own naturally dyed and botanically printed pieces, along with the knowledge and confidence to continue exploring natural colour at home.
No previous experience is necessary, just come ready to slow down, experiment and get a little bit messy.
